Review, Adjust, or Confirm an Unusually High Inventory Count

What should I do when Inventory Ally flags an unusually high count?

Inventory Ally helps prevent counting errors by flagging quantities that are significantly higher than expected based on product usage. This gives you the chance to review the quantity and unit of measurement before the count affects your inventory value and ordering recommendations.

When Inventory Ally flags an unusually high count, you can adjust the quantity or confirm that the entered amount is correct.

What should you do?

  • If the quantity or unit is incorrect, select Adjust and correct the count.

  • If the quantity and unit are correct, select Confirm.

  • If the warning appears unexpectedly or repeatedly, see Troubleshooting: Count Flagged as Too High to review the item's unit settings and conversion ratios.

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Sign in to your Inventory Ally account.

2. Go to Counting and enter the quantity for the inventory item.

3. If the entered quantity is significantly higher than expected, Inventory Ally displays Not saved below the quantity. Hover over the warning to view more details.

4. Review the warning. Check the quantity, unit of measurement, and estimated inventory value to make sure the information you entered is correct.

5. If the count is incorrect, click Adjust > enter the correct quantity. If the entered quantity is correct, click Confirm.

Note: Until you adjust or confirm the flagged quantity, the count isn't saved, and the item remains marked as uncounted.
